I first ventured onto the web in May, circa 2002. I landed on Deviantart first, then Livejournal, and I maintained the Livejournal through the rise and fall of several online art galleries. I abandoned Livejournal for good around 2016, and never found something that measured up to how much I liked that place. It was so easy to just open LJ, barf my thoughts out, filter the post to be as public or private as I needed it to be, and hit post.

I have missed it ever since. It and all the old digital art galleries that popped up after DA began a process of cynical corporate decay that - yeah, it was enshittification. I am not code savvy. I am sure I can learn, but I do not think I can build my own blog from scratch AND use the blog for its intended purpose at the same time. Or I guess I could, but it wouldn't be any fun for me. And uh. living under militarized occupation while my insane country invades itself is taking up a lot of mental bandwidth. I've tried so many other blogging interfaces, but this one is the first one that actually got me to write.

That's all I ever wanted back. A place with a pleasant, crisp interface, where I can write like I'm in a notepad program, do absolutely bare minimum coding language for emphasis and cuts and embedded images, and then hit send.I wonder if I finally found it. We'll see.
